Dating After Retirement – A Few Easy Steps To Success
Why does one find that retiring is the end of their world to so many people? Especially those who lose a life partner soon after going into retirement often just lose their zest for life and turn into depressed, lonely beings just waiting for God. That is all so unnecessary. Dating after retirement can be the start of an exciting new period in your life.
The first thing that you should attend to is your self confidence. A good beginning is to get rid of the couple of extra kilos that you gained during the last few years. If you want to know how to lose fat: there is no magical formula. Do the simple things first by cutting your calorie intake and exercising more.
Now there are many ways to take in less calories. You don’t necessary have to eat less. You just have to eat better. Get rid of the fatty foods and the 5kg boxes of ice cream in your refrigerator. If you ever want to date again, you need some self discipline! The best option is not even to try it alone. Join a slimming club. They go under various names, but the principle is sound: if you pick up weight you have to confess to other people why.
Joining such a club can of course be useful in more than one way. Often these clubs accept both male and female members. Can you see where I am going with this? At these meetings will be hordes of gentlemen and ladies who might be a little plump right now, but they are on the right track to lose a lot of weight. And believe me, many of them are, just like you, keeping an open mind should the right person coming along who wants to be more than a slimming partner. Ladies: watch out for the guy with a black sport watch. He’s wearing it for one reason only: to impress someone like you!
Apart form eating less you should of course still exercise more. Now don’t go overboard with this. You just want to lose weight and get a date – you don’t want to kill yourself. If you haven’t exercised in many years, simply start by talking a long walk once or twice a day. Then perhaps increase the pace a bit and jog 100m before walking for 100m again. Sooner or later you will be able to jog the whole distance.
Now here comes the clever part. Remember: you don’t want to get fit just for fitness’s sake. You have an ulterior motive. So ask someone at the slimming club to jog with you. Not just anyone – someone that you think could become a very special jogging partner.
It might take more than one walking partner and even more than one slimming club to reach your final goal, but the fun is after all in the journey, not in the destination.
